Tiny Tots

Our infant unit is separate from our older children and gives our babies their own space to learn and develop. Our infant ratios are never more than 1 teacher to 4 babies. In this room we offer a flexible daily schedule that gives your baby a variety of activities throughout the day whether it be music time, story time, or tummy time.

Two Totties

The 2 year olds at Tot Stop are a 1 teacher to 8 child ratio. Our 2's run around with our 3s and 4s during play time but have focused learning with their teacher to further development. We emphasize introductions to colors, shapes, numbers, learning to use the potty, and self control. We assess each child and try to place them in groups that will give them the best chance at learning success. Stay tuned as we are working on opening a room just for our 2 year olds in 2018!

3s-5s

"Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning, but for children, play is serious learning." - Mr. Rogers

Our preschool age children make up the largest portion of our kids. We have school time everyday starting at 9am August - May we take the summer off to have fun and take part in special summer only activities, like water play. During school time we focus on learning all of the critical elements children need to know to do well in kindergarten. We have a different theme every week or two weeks that allows us to explore the many different things the world has to offer. Some of the children's favorites include on the farm, space, and jungle safari. Every week has a core focus that includes a letter, color, number, and shape. We also have power weeks in which we will focus on specifics such as shapes only, comparisons, and colors. We follow a strict daily schedule that allows us to keep the children busy, focused, and happy. This schedule allows for us to incorporate the various units found within the center as well as lots of outside time. These units include the writing center, science, dramatic play, transportation, block play, and reading. We believe that allowing a child to learn through free play teaches them to be critical thinkers, problem solvers, as well as imaginative.
